Cinnamon Liquor

  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 ts Ground coriander seed
  • 1 1/2 c 40% alcohol
  • 1/2 c Sugar Syrup

    Steep all herbs in alcohol for 2 weeks. Strain and filter until clear and add sugar syrup to taste. Let stand 1 week and its ready to serve. Makes a nice hot drink when added to boiling water.

 

Alternatively you can add Cinnamon stick to alcohol (<50%), steep it for 2-4 weeks and re-distill it in a small (glass) still. This will give you a very nice cinnamon esprit which you can mix with sugar sirup in order to arrive to a very nice liquor.
